Dr. Oyaje Sule, the medical director of the clinic, known locally as Dr. Ghana, confirmed that they admitted the girl on Saturday morning. He stated, “Yes, we received a 14-year-old girl who was suspected to have consumed Gammalin after her mother pressed her for the name of the person who impregnated her. As her condition worsened, I made the decision to refer her to the hospital in Obagaji, the headquarters of Agatu local government, but unfortunately, she passed away en route.”

It is reported that the girl, believed to be between 13 and 14 years of age, has already been laid to rest. Tragically, she had lost her father a few years prior.

Attempts to contact local government chairman Melvin James were unsuccessful, as his phone was switched off. Additionally, Catherine Anene, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, was unavailable for comment when reached.
