Troops Rescue 10 Kidnapped Victims In Katsina, Capture Suspects

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 10 civilians abducted by armed terrorists during a swift military operation in Katsina State.

According to reports, the operation followed intelligence indicating that terrorists had kidnapped residents of Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities in Funtua Local Government Area.

Upon receiving the information, troops deployed around the Sabuwa axis were mobilised to intercept the fleeing terrorists, who were reportedly moving with the abducted victims.

The sustained military pursuit reportedly mounted pressure on the terrorists, forcing them to abandon their captives and flee into the surrounding area.

The troops subsequently secured all 10 victims, comprising three adult males, six females and one infant, before moving them to safety.

The rescued civilians are expected to be handed over to the Sabuwa Local Government authorities for medical evaluation and eventual reunification with their families.

The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist activities, protect civilians and rescue people abducted by criminal elements across the North-West.
