Nollywood actress and businesswoman Uche Ogbodo has disclosed that her husband supported her decision to undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery after she opened up to him about the challenges she faced with her body following childbirth.

According to Ireporter Online, the actress explained that her choice was driven by a personal need to restore confidence and improve her mental well-being. She noted that after three cesarean deliveries, her body had changed significantly, and she felt the need to make a transformation for her own happiness.

In an interview, the mother of three emphasized that her decision was not to please anyone else but to feel comfortable in her own skin. She said being honest about her journey was important to her, especially because many public figures conceal their cosmetic procedures. Ogbodo maintained that transparency could inspire other women to embrace self-improvement without shame.

While acknowledging the risks associated with cosmetic surgery, she stressed that she felt safe knowing she was in the hands of professionals. Reflecting on her past, Ogbodo admitted she never had the hourglass figure many consider the beauty standard today. She added that motherhood further altered her body, and undergoing surgery was a way of reclaiming her confidence.

The actress also criticized the culture of secrecy surrounding cosmetic enhancements among celebrities. She argued that public figures should be honest with their fans, noting that many women admire and look up to them. According to her, presenting cosmetic procedures as natural is misleading and unfair.

Ogbodo stated that she has always been passionate about encouraging women to build confidence and embrace self-worth, using her life experiences as a source of motivation. She maintained that her surgery was solely for herself, declaring, “I had to have work done on myself for me, not for any other person, but for my mental health. I am enough competition for myself.”
