Udeogaranya pointed out that Nigeria, being a religiously diverse nation, should not align itself with Arab affairs, especially considering the country’s non-Arab status and minimal Arab ethnic influence. He emphasized that Tinubu’s representation of Nigeria at the summit not only undermines the nation’s constitutional values but also misrepresents its identity on the global stage.

The former presidential candidate urged the National Assembly to intervene and caution the president against similar actions, stressing the importance of respecting Nigeria’s religious composition and pursuing international alliances that better align with the nation’s interests.

This comes after President Tinubu traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, invited by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to discuss the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis.
