In a media briefing held in Abuja on Tuesday, Olawande emphasized the Federal Government’s recent decision to lift the ban on posting corps members to private sector institutions. This decision, made official on November 19, 2024, now allows youth service members to be posted to private entities such as banks, oil and gas companies, and other corporations.

Olawande noted that the directive would take effect starting with the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1, who recently completed their orientation at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camps. The ministry intends to collaborate with employers to ensure that these young people benefit from their service year, aligning their placements with their fields of study.

“I’m asking employers, for the sake of our country, to please accept these young corps members,” Olawande urged. “This is a new chapter, and we need your support to ensure that they gain the most from their service year.”

The minister further expressed his commitment to the welfare of young Nigerians, emphasizing that empowering and protecting the youth is the ministry’s top priority. “This is a time for youth empowerment, and we are fully committed to supporting them in every way possible,” he said.
