VeryDarkMan Blasts Kiddwaya Over Benue Donation Call, Questions Motive
Controversial social activist, VeryDarkMan, has taken a swipe at reality TV star and billionaire heir, Kiddwaya, over his public appeal for donations to aid victims of the recent violent attacks in Yelwata, Benue State.
Kiddwaya had earlier urged Nigerians via a post on X to contribute funds to support affected communities, a move that attracted backlash and forced him to delete the post.
Responding in a video posted online, VeryDarkMan criticized Kiddwaya for requesting public funds despite being known for showcasing his luxurious lifestyle. He questioned Kiddwaya’s sincerity and argued that if the appeal was truly genuine, he should have personally provided financial aid.
“You’re always flaunting your wealth, and now you’re the one dropping an account number for donations? You’ve never even visited Benue but you’re writing open letters and calling for funds,” he said.
He praised Nigerians for rejecting Kiddwaya’s call and pressuring him to delete the post, describing it as a needed reality check.
The activist also took aim at NGOs, warning them against leveraging the Benue crisis to solicit donations under the pretense of distributing food. He stressed that the real issue was insecurity, not hunger.
VeryDarkMan proposed that donations should only be collected if community leaders form local security groups and get official clearance from the Inspector General of Police to acquire arms.
He added, “The time for silence is over. If communities arm themselves with legal approval, then Nigerians can contribute even if it’s just five Naira. Everyone has a role to play now.”
