This announcement was made by Kimiebi Ebienfa, Acting spokesperson for Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday.

During his visit, Wang Yi, a member of China’s Communist Party’s Political Bureau, will engage in key discussions to further enhance cooperation, particularly in trade, infrastructure, and technology.

The visit will include a bilateral meeting with Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The statement read: “Foreign Minister Wang Yi will be welcomed upon arrival by Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. He will then meet with Ambassador Tuggar for talks focusing on expanding bilateral relations.”

Wang Yi will also pay a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa to deliver a special message from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The visit is expected to open doors for stronger collaboration and opportunities in various sectors, further bolstering Nigeria-China relations.
