Yobe Government Dismisses Boko Haram Movement Rumors in Damaturu
The Yobe State Government has firmly denied recent reports suggesting that Boko Haram insurgents are advancing toward Damaturu, the state capital.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), clarified that the viral claims circulating on social media—allegedly titled “IMMEDIATE SECURITY ALERT”—are completely false.
Abdulsalam emphasized that the information did not originate from his office and described it as the work of mischief-makers seeking to incite public fear.
“The purported intelligence report is baseless and should be disregarded by the public,” he stated.
He urged residents to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear, reassuring them that there is no cause for alarm.
