According to Ireporter Online, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Sani Shinkafi, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, to urgently intervene in the growing crisis within the Zamfara APC.

In a statement released on Saturday, Shinkafi expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions among key party stakeholders, warning that the persistent divisions could jeopardize the APC’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The former member of the Tinubu–Shettima Presidential Campaign Council noted that unless the party leadership takes proactive steps toward reconciliation and inclusive dialogue, the APC risks repeating the internal conflicts that led to its downfall in 2023.

He appealed to party leaders at all levels, including the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, to put aside personal ambitions and rivalries and work collectively to restore unity and stability within the party’s ranks.

Shinkafi emphasized that continued infighting and factionalism could give the opposition a strategic advantage if not urgently addressed. “All leaders, both former governors and current ministers, must join hands to rebuild the APC in Zamfara. What we need now is cooperation, not competition,” he stressed.

He further warned that the party must act swiftly to mend internal cracks, adding, “A house divided against itself cannot stand. We must put an end to internal rivalry and rebuild trust among members if the APC is to regain its strength and relevance.”
