2023 Presidential Election: See Anambra Final Result

Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has been declared the winner of the Anambra State presidential election.

According to the Nation newspaper, Mr Obi received 584,621 votes (more than 90% of the votes cast) to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 9,036 votes.

Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) finished fourth with 5,111 votes, while Peter Umeadi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) finished third with 7,388 votes.

Mr Obi is a former governor of Anambra State, which is currently led by Charles Soludo of the APGA.

Malik Ado-Ibrahim, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), finished fifth in the presidential election with 1,997 votes.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), finished sixth with 1,967 votes.

Nnenna Oti, the state’s Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared the results on Tuesday at the INEC collation center in Awka, the state capital.

Mrs. Oti is Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology in Owerri, Imo State.
