Former Senate President Okuoma Soldiers Killing An Assault On Niger Delta Region

The Senate Committee on Defence, chaired by Senator Ahmad Lawan, has strongly denounced the killing of sixteen military personnel in Okuoma community of Delta State last Thursday, labeling it as an attack on the security and stability of the Niger Delta region.

Senator Lawan called upon the Nigerian military and security agencies to swiftly investigate the killings, apprehend the perpetrators, and restore peace to the area. He urged the people of Okuoma community to provide any pertinent information that could aid in the apprehension of the individuals responsible for the tragic incident.

The statement emphasized the Committee’s demand for the federal government to offer sufficient assistance to the families of the deceased and injured personnel.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. We stand united with the people of Okuoma in denouncing violence and advocating for an end to the unrest that has plagued their community,” the statement concluded.
