According to Timidi Wariowei, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity for the state INEC, this information has been made accessible through the display of forms containing the personal particulars of the candidates and their deputies. The forms have been posted at the INEC office located in Aduwawa, Benin City, as well as in all 18 local government offices across the state.

Wariowei emphasized that this action is consistent with electoral regulations, ensuring transparency in the electoral process. He invited political parties and the general public to review the displayed information, which includes the candidates’ credentials.

He stated, “In compliance with the law, today, being March 30, 2024, the INEC Edo State Office and the 18 local government area offices have pasted Form EC9 which is the personal particulars of the 17 candidates and their deputies. The form also includes the credentials of the candidates.”

This development follows a directive from the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, who instructed the Edo INEC to promptly display the particulars of the gubernatorial candidates.
