Obi emphasized the importance of not allowing the prevailing unprecedented hardship in the country to dampen the spirit of love, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence among the people. Instead, he urged them to use this year’s Eid-El Fitri festivities to foster unity and recommit themselves to the values of love, patriotism, and unity for national development.

In a message to Muslims, the former Anambra State Governor stressed the significance of allowing the solemnity of the holy months to influence their interactions and thoughts about the future of the country, considering the ongoing fasting periods in both Christianity and Islam.

Expressing concern over the alarming rate of bloodshed in the country on a daily basis, Obi urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention to address this pressing issue. He highlighted the loss of innocent lives, particularly the plight of school children in the North and the unnecessary deaths of troops, as reasons to beseech Allah for the country’s protection from further destruction.

Obi emphasized the urgent need for intense prayers for Nigeria, especially considering the nation’s current economic challenges, including currency devaluation, rising unemployment, and inflation.

In conclusion, Obi encouraged the people not to lose hope or lose sight of the true essence of the festive season and the divine comfort it brings. He reassured them that despite the challenges, a brighter future for Nigeria is still attainable, emphasizing that there is always hope even in the darkest times.
