Peter Obi Slams Rising Wave Of Killings In Nigeria—Calls For Urgent ActionLabour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence and killings across Nigeria, particularly highlighting recent incidents of kidnapping and violent crimes.
In a post on his X account, Obi condemned the tragic ambush along the Ihiala-Orlu Road in Anambra State, where crew members of Supersports TV and a police officer were killed. The crew was en route to cover the Super Eagles’ AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Libya when the attack occurred.
Obi lamented the worsening security situation, emphasizing the devastating impact non-state actors have on families whose loved ones are kidnapped and often killed in brutal ways. He also condemned a recent terror attack in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, where several people were killed and others injured.
Obi called for immediate action to address the security challenges that continue to plague the nation.
