Wike Shuts Secretariat Handling Sale Of Federal Government Houses In Abuja

According to Ireporter Online, the development was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media.

The decision follows the formal dissolution of the committee, which was established to oversee issues relating to the sale of Federal Government Houses within the Federal Capital Territory.

Following the closure of the secretariat, the FCT Administration has approved the creation of a dedicated division within the Department of Land Administration to take over responsibilities previously handled by the defunct committee.

The statement explained that the secretariat had remained operational after the committee completed its assignment in order to address matters arising from its activities. It has now been formally shut down alongside the dissolved committee.

The FCT Administration directed members of the public seeking information or assistance regarding the sale of Federal Government Houses to henceforth approach the Department of Land Administration.

The administration also issued a warning over possible fraudulent activities, urging residents to be cautious of individuals who may continue to present themselves as officials, staff or members of the former committee and its secretariat.

It stressed that both the Ad-hoc Committee and its Secretariat no longer exist, meaning individuals claiming to represent either body have no official authority to conduct transactions or handle matters relating to the sale of Federal Government Houses in Abuja.
