The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, addressed the incident in a statement shared on his official handle. He acknowledged the viral video showing Aisha charging at the officer and assaulting him after he attempted to stop her for the traffic violation.

Hundeyin criticized the officer for allowing his emotions to override his professionalism, despite initially exercising restraint. The officer has been reprimanded appropriately for his actions.

In contrast, Aisha has expressed sincere remorse for her behavior and has tendered a written apology for her actions towards the officer. While emphasizing the importance of maintaining decorum in interactions with security agencies, Hundeyin called for professionalism from both officers and citizens.
