Kano State Crisis Deepens As Governor Yusuf Orders Arrest Of Former Emir-Bayero

Ireporteronline learned that the governor, his Deputy Comrade Aminu Abdussalam, and other top government officials have taken over the Emir’s Palace to prevent the deposed Emir’s return.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, indicated that as the State Chief Security Officer, the governor has mandated the arrest of the deposed Emir for violating state laws and directives.

Sources revealed that Aminu Ado Bayero had been brought back to Kano and was residing at the Nasarawa Emir Rest House adjacent to the Ministry of Works. Meanwhile, Governor Abba and his Deputy remained at the Emir’s Palace after reinstating Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.

A video circulating on social media shows Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam speaking angrily: “We are ready for them. Hence they want to bring chaos to Kano by their illegal actions of returning the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero.”

He continued, “We are here, we are not going anywhere because we understand that the NSA, under the orders of Ganduje, has brought back the deposed Emir with heavy security trying to bring him into the palace; we will not allow that to happen.”

Abdussalam also pointed out that the State Assembly had deliberated for three days on the Emirate Council Law and repealed it, with all 40 members present. He questioned the motives of the NSA and former Governor Ganduje.

Reports suggest that two private jets were used to transport the deposed Emir back to Kano in an attempt to reinstall him. In anticipation of any unforeseen circumstances, the Governor and his cabinet have already taken control of the Emir’s Palace.
