Since assuming office, Lawal stated that his administration has diligently addressed this issue, settling over N5 billion of the backlog within the first year. He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that every retired civil servant receives their entitled gratuity and pension.

Lawal reiterated his administration’s dedication to rescuing Zamfara State socially and economically. He highlighted sectors such as security, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, healthcare, and good governance as focal points of his rescue mission.
