VP Shettima Highlights Tinubu’s Security Focus After Meeting with NAN Leaders

Meeting with the leadership of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Vice President Kashim Ibrahim Shettima emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges. The courtesy visit, led by NAN’s Managing Director, Ali Mohammed Ali, took place at the Presidential Villa.

During the visit, Shettima conveyed that President Tinubu is deeply concerned about the nation’s security. “Today, I had the pleasure of hosting the NAN leadership, and I want to assure you that President Tinubu is very attentive to the security issues facing Nigeria,” Shettima stated in a post on Monday.

The Vice President, who previously served as the governor of Borno State, called for a unified effort to tackle the growing insecurity in the West African Sahel region. He highlighted the interconnectedness of security challenges in the Sahel and their impact on Nigeria and its neighboring countries.

Shettima also stressed the need for collaborative action and expressed his support for NAN’s forthcoming international lecture on Sahel security. He urged for broader backing for the event, aiming to enhance regional security cooperation.
