Abia Government Boosts School Security Ahead of September 16 Resumption
Abia State Government is stepping up security measures by deploying security personnel to schools across the state as part of its commitment to safeguarding students, teachers, and school property. This move comes ahead of the scheduled school resumption on September 16.
Prince Okey Kanu, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, announced this plan during a press briefing following the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting led by Governor Dr. Alex Otti. Kanu emphasized that the initiative aligns with the administration’s broader educational reform agenda and fulfills a crucial promise made by Governor Otti.
“This deployment is a clear fulfillment of our commitment to protect the lives and properties of students and teachers across the state,” Kanu stated. He also highlighted that enhancing the safety of educational institutions has been a significant priority for the Otti administration.
The new security measures are designed to address longstanding concerns about safety in schools. Kanu noted that the presence of security personnel in schools will help ensure that both students and educational facilities are secure and protected.
With schools reopening on September 16, these proactive security measures reflect the Abia State Government’s dedication to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for all students and staff.
