Watch Video: Election Day Disaster – How Obaseki’s Do-or-Die Tactics Led To His Epic Defeat

Welcome, my people, to another exciting episode of Edo Unfiltered! I am Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, Chairman and CEO of Bush Radio Academy.

Here, we speak the truth, no holding back! Today, we’ll dive into the reasons behind PDP’s Governor Godwin Obaseki and his ally, Asue Ighodalo, suffering a crushing defeat in the recent Edo governorship election. Get ready for an insightful discussion that’s sure to bring some laughs and stir a few emotions!

PDP is out there crying foul, accusing APC of buying votes and manipulating the election. [Laughing sound effect] Can you imagine? The thief shouting ‘thief!’ The reality is, PDP and Obaseki completely mishandled the situation, and now they’re looking for excuses to shift the blame elsewhere.

Let’s focus on the main issue. How did Obaseki expect people to vote for him when he was out there threatening voters, calling the election a ‘do-or-die’ affair? He talked about war, but did he really believe people would rush to vote after such threats? My people, when you warn citizens about impending chaos on election day, they’ll be the first to stay away. Who wants to face violence? Edo people are far from foolish!

To make matters worse, the rain that fell on election day was nothing short of biblical. It felt like the heavens themselves were mourning Obaseki’s administration! How can you expect voters to wade through floods, like they’re crossing the River Nile, just to vote for someone who couldn’t even address Benin’s drainage issues? While rainwater is flooding their homes, how can they stand in support? My people simply wouldn’t tolerate that!
