No Turning Back! Tinubu’s Government Stands Firm On Controversial Policies, APC DeclaresThe All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly dismissed opposition demands to reverse President Bola Tinubu’s policies, urging them instead to back the government in advancing its “Renewed Hope” agenda. The APC made this statement on Friday in response to allegations by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, which claimed that the APC manipulated the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.

The PDP has accused the ruling party of trying to establish a one-party system and totalitarian rule in Nigeria. Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the PDP’s BoT, expressed concerns about the nation’s deteriorating socio-economic conditions, attributing them to APC-led government policies.

Following a BoT meeting at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, Wabara reiterated the opposition’s stance against alleged electoral malpractice by the ruling party.

In a counter-statement, APC Director of Publicity Alhaji Bala Ibrahim refuted these accusations during an interview with Daily Trust. He emphasized that the APC remains committed to upholding democracy and described the PDP’s claims as baseless and a distraction from their own failures.

“The APC has no intention of undermining democracy,” Ibrahim said, adding that the party’s policies are geared towards delivering positive change and the dividends of democracy to the people. He also urged the opposition to be constructive in their criticisms rather than destructive.

Ibrahim argued that the country’s current challenges were inherited from years of PDP mismanagement and stressed that APC policies aim to improve the socio-economic conditions of Nigerians in the long term. He called on the opposition to abandon thoughts of reversing the government’s policies and to support its efforts to move the country forward.
