According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that the development witnessed in the nation’s capital would not have been possible without the support of President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly.

Wike made this assertion during the commissioning of access roads to the Renewed Hope Cities and estates in the Karsana District of Abuja, an event held to commemorate President Tinubu’s third year in office.

The minister explained that the President’s backing, alongside the swift approval of the FCTA budget by the National Assembly, played a crucial role in enabling the execution of major infrastructural projects across the capital city.

President Tinubu was represented at the event by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Speaking at the commissioning, Wike expressed appreciation for the consistent support received from the Presidency and lawmakers, noting that it had significantly accelerated development in the FCT.

He recalled the condition of the Karsana area prior to the intervention, describing it as previously inaccessible and lacking proper road infrastructure, despite ongoing investments by developers in the area.

Wike further disclosed that the road project was awarded in February 2025 to a contractor, Lubricks, and expressed satisfaction that the project had now been completed, transforming the district into a more accessible and developed environment.

He added that improved funding and timely payments had helped eliminate delays, ensuring steady progress and completion of ongoing projects, while commending both the contractors and government stakeholders for fulfilling their responsibilities.
