This shake-up, which introduced seven new ministers, comes amid reports suggesting that Ade-John’s lack of a political background and absence of a ‘godfather’ contributed to her removal. Sources within the tourism sector informed Saturday Punch that her ouster was strongly influenced by powerful political figures in the Lagos State government.

Despite living in Lagos, Ade-John allegedly encountered several obstacles in her attempts to meet with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reportedly being denied access on three different occasions. Without a political patron in Lagos, she became vulnerable to internal pressures and threats from those seeking to dominate the tourism sector.

One source remarked, “While she may be a native of Lagos, she isn’t involved in the party, and that is what led to her downfall. She was removed due to pressure from the Lagos power bloc.

“The woman excelled in her role. Nigeria has done her a disservice by letting her go after she dedicated herself and delivered results.”
