Ndume: Tinubu Must Take Tougher Action And Sack More Ministers For Real Change

In a statement released on Saturday, Ndume commended the recent cabinet reshuffle and the establishment of the Ministry of Regional Development. However, he emphasized that further action is necessary to improve efficiency.

“More needs to be done because some ministers are still missing in action,” he remarked.

This follows President Tinubu’s recent reshuffle, which involved dismissing six ministers, appointing seven new ones, and reallocating the portfolios of ten others. Ndume also called on Tinubu to host a national economic summit led by prominent figures, including Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Oby Ezekwesili, to propose locally tailored solutions for Nigeria’s economic issues, rather than relying on IMF or World Bank recommendations.

The senator praised Tinubu’s steps to reduce government spending amid economic challenges and encouraged other government sectors to do the same.
