against those breaking the law.
Wahab’s statement came in response to viral videos showing individuals selling puppies in the Lekki area, underlining the public health risks and disorder these activities cause. He pointed out that street trading and hawking of goods, including livestock, are banned under the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017.
Selling sickly animals, such as puppies, is particularly dangerous, Wahab explained, stressing the government’s commitment to upholding public health and safety regulations. The enforcement of these laws is a priority, as the state continues to crack down on such illegal practices.
