Sokoto Beneficiaries Praise Army For Free Health Services

At the event, Major General Ibikunke Ajose, General Officer Commanding the 8 Division, highlighted the Army’s commitment to social responsibility and its mission to support underserved communities. Represented by Brigadier General Ogbonnaya Igwe, Ajose emphasized the Army’s tradition of community service, which goes beyond Remembrance Day activities.

The medical team provided a range of services including malaria testing and treatment, hypertension management, eye exams with eyeglasses, dental care, diabetes screening, and pediatric services. Brigadier General Austin Okafor, Commandant of the 8 Division Medical Hospital, assured the community that more complex cases would be referred to the Army’s hospital at Giginya Barracks.

Abubakar Maradun, a local beneficiary, thanked the Army for the initiative and called for similar efforts in other parts of Sokoto State, urging residents to remain cooperative for a smooth process. He also encouraged prayers for the Chief of Army Staff and the entire Nigerian Army.
