Nigeria And Rwanda Set To Redefine Sustainability In Africa

The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has initiated a partnership with the Rwandan High Commission in Nigeria to advance environmental sustainability efforts.

During a meeting in Abuja, NESREA Director General, Dr. Innocent Barikor, praised Rwanda’s achievements in combating plastic pollution and emphasized the importance of adopting similar practices in Nigeria.

Barikor stated, “Nigeria is championing Circular Economy growth, and NESREA is at the forefront, including efforts to ban single-use plastics.”

The Rwandan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo, expressed the country’s readiness to collaborate with Nigeria, emphasizing that sustainable development relies on robust environmental protection measures.

This collaboration aims to strengthen both nations’ environmental policies through shared expertise and capacity building.
