The singer removed the last video he had posted addressing the speculation just hours after sharing it.

The controversy began on Sunday, January 26, 2025, when 2Baba shared a now-deleted Instagram post announcing his separation from Annie, his wife of 12 years.

In the deleted post, he wrote:
“Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long.

“Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now, and I have currently filed for divorce.

“I will grant a press release soon to share my story—not because it’s anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people, and I want them to understand my innocence or offense.

“Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”

Shortly after, another post claimed his Instagram account had been hacked. It read:
“My Instagram account has been hacked. Efforts are being carried out to take back control. #onelove!”

However, in a surprising turn, 2Baba followed up with a video where he refuted the hacking claims. Speaking in Pidgin, he said, “Hello, my people, nobody hacked my account. Na me talk weytin I won yan.”

By Monday morning, all posts related to the alleged divorce, including the video, had been removed from his Instagram page.
