The officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Modestus Ojiebe, who is attached to the Kwara State Police Command, was kidnapped while attempting to fix his broken-down vehicle near the Dei-Dei Police Barracks in Abuja.

According to a statement released on Monday by the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, the Divisional Police Officer of Dawaki swiftly led his patrol team to the scene after receiving a distress call.

Adeh confirmed that the officer was rescued and reunited with his family the same night. She added that efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers, who abandoned the victim and fled into the bush in Garaku, Nasarawa State.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
