Breaking: Nigeria Launches Its First-Ever Aeronautic University

The announcement was made by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, March 3, 2025.

IBUAM was among ten universities granted approval during the session at the State House, a decision that was met with excitement, particularly from young Nigerians who have benefited from the generosity of Comrade Isaac Balami, the university’s founder.

The approval, which had been delayed for four years, finally received the green light, marking a major step forward for Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Balami, who also established 7Star Global Hangar and Airlines, described the development as a breakthrough for the industry.
“I am proud to pioneer such an initiative, which not only aims to elevate Nigeria’s global aviation status but also focuses on shaping the next generation of credible leaders,” he stated.

Beyond IBUAM, Balami remains committed to aviation training through his Isaac Balami Foundation, currently offering training to 160 young Nigerians in various aviation disciplines.

He emphasized that his dedication stems from a deep love for Nigeria and a strong desire to contribute to the nation’s advancement.

With IBUAM’s establishment, industry experts anticipate significant progress in aeronautical education, positioning Nigeria as a potential aviation hub in Africa.
