Northern Governors Condemn Killing Of Northerners In Edo, Demand Justice

The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has strongly condemned the killing of Northerners in Edo State, calling it completely unacceptable.

In a statement, the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described the act as a severe violation of human rights, stressing that extrajudicial killings are intolerable and must be condemned without reservation.

The governors extended their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragic incident.

“We are deeply disturbed by the loss of innocent lives and the brutal manner in which these individuals were attacked,” the statement read.

“This heinous act undermines the rule of law and the very foundation of our society. It is crucial that the relevant authorities conduct a thorough investigation into this senseless crime. The perpetrators must be identified, arrested, and brought to justice swiftly.”

The Forum reiterated that every Nigerian, regardless of their region, should be able to travel freely and safely without fear of harassment, violence, or intimidation.

The governors called on the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate action to prevent such incidents from happening again, while also urging for calm.
