Lekki Lockdown: Billboard-Smashing Truck Sparks Traffic Nightmare (Video)

According to Naija News, the accident, which occurred around 5:30 am, blocked about 85% of the roadway, causing severe traffic congestion and leaving motorists stranded.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident, with its spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, explaining that the truck got stuck beneath the overhead billboard, knocking it down and making the road impassable.

Emergency responders, including welders, were deployed to the scene to dismantle the damaged billboard structure and free the vehicle. Admiralty Way, heading toward Lekki, was temporarily shut down to allow for the rescue operation.

“The road has been temporarily cordoned off to allow a technical team to cut through the metal framework safely. This is necessary to ensure the safety of both motorists and operatives during the process,” LASTMA stated.

The agency apologized for the disruption and assured the public that normal traffic flow would resume as soon as the road is cleared.
