Key political parties, including the APC, PDP, LP, and APGA, have already concluded their primaries, with candidates such as Governor Chukwuma Soludo (APGA), Nicholas Ukachwuku (APC), and Jude Ezenwafor (PDP) set to contest for the governorship seat.

Anambra’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, issued a statement alerting the public to the fraudulent activities, where individuals, claiming to be acting on behalf of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), are collecting NINs under false pretenses. These politicians allegedly plan to use these details to illegally manipulate the voter registration process by issuing new Voter Cards, replacing legitimate ones in favor of their own associates.

The government has urged citizens to be vigilant and report any such requests for NINs to the Anambra State security helpline at 5111. This ongoing scheme poses a serious threat to the integrity of the election, as it could disenfranchise legitimate voters.
