Ireporter reports that on April 2, heavily armed gunmen carried out coordinated attacks on communities including Hurti, Josho, Daffo, and Manguna. The onslaught left over 50 people dead, destroyed more than 300 homes, and displaced over 1,000 residents.

A separate attack on March 27 claimed the lives of 10 mourners during a wake.
