Popular Nigerian content creator and actress, Taaooma, has revealed that African parents, especially her mother, remain her biggest source of inspiration when creating comedy content.

According to Ireporter Online, the skit maker disclosed during an interview that she often turns to everyday experiences in African homes whenever she faces creative blocks, transforming family interactions and parental habits into relatable comedy sketches.

Taaooma explained that although she occasionally experiences moments without ideas, she takes time to refresh her creativity by observing the actions and behaviours of her mother and other African parents.

She said the unique ways parents communicate, discipline their children and handle daily situations often provide endless material for her content, which she later enhances with her personal creativity.

The comedian also revealed that she is deliberate about the type of content she consumes, noting that she avoids materials that could negatively affect her creativity and instead focuses on content that stimulates her imagination.

Taaooma admitted that reading has not always been part of her routine but disclosed that she recently began reading the book Atomic Habits, expressing hopes of completing it.

Speaking about one of her most recognised characters, “Quadri,” the actress revealed that the role was originally created as a temporary character for an advertisement but gained popularity after audiences connected with it.

She described Quadri as a representation of a typical Ilorin young man, saying the character reflects the bold and rebellious nature associated with many youths from the city.

Taaooma added that every person has someone with similar traits to Quadri in their lives, which is one reason the character resonates strongly with viewers.

The content creator further stated that while she enjoys promoting Nigerian culture through her work, most of her creative decisions come naturally rather than through deliberate planning around specific regions or personalities. She said her characters and ideas usually develop based on her experiences and observations.

Through her unique storytelling style, Taaooma continues to build a strong connection with audiences by turning ordinary Nigerian experiences into entertaining and relatable content.
