According to Ireporter Online, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has engaged a Nigerian company to spearhead an ambitious initiative aimed at generating an estimated ₦11 trillion annually through tourism in Abuja.

Chairman of Groovy December, Imoh Ebong, announced the development in Abuja, explaining that the project is being executed in collaboration with relevant federal agencies under the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Ebong noted that while Nigeria is blessed with vast tourism resources, the challenge has been transforming those potentials into tangible economic benefits. He stressed that a vibrant tourism industry could significantly reduce the nation’s unemployment rate, currently standing at 31.9% according to the National Bureau of Statistics’ Q4 2024 Labour Force Survey.

He urged corporate stakeholders to support the initiative, stating that the projection for 2025 places tourism revenue at over ₦11 trillion. Ebong praised the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is being actively implemented in the FCT by Minister Wike.
