Outrage Over Edo Truck Accident: Dangote Group Assures Full Medical and Compensation Aid

Dangote Group has confirmed that one of its trucks was involved in an accident in Auchi, Edo State, which resulted in injuries to Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna. The accident led to the amputation of Ruth Otabor’s legs, prompting public outcry and calls for justice.

In response, Dangote Group assured the public of its full support for the victim, including comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation, in line with company policy. Senior officials from Dangote Cement Plc, along with the firm’s insurance team, visited Ruth Otabor and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital and engaged with law enforcement authorities regarding the incident.

The company emphasized its commitment to the well-being of those affected, extending thoughts and prayers for Ruth Otabor’s recovery. The incident has drawn widespread attention, with several Nollywood personalities, including Kate Henshaw, joining Phyna in demanding accountability.

Dangote Group noted that it has protocols in place for such incidents and reiterated its dedication to supporting the victim and her family throughout the recovery process.
