According to court disclosures cited by Ireporter Online, prosecutors presented a series of audio recordings allegedly recovered from a Samsung phone said to belong to the former minister. The recordings were said to contain emotional and romantic conversations between Alison-Madueke and Aluko, offering what the prosecution described as insight into a deeply personal relationship intertwined with official dealings.

Aluko, who has been linked to alleged money laundering activities, was said to have paid bribes to Alison-Madueke during her tenure overseeing Nigeria’s state-owned oil corporation. Prosecutors argue that the recordings provide evidence of a close bond marked by intimacy and mutual assurances of loyalty.

In one of the audio clips played before the court, Aluko was reportedly heard describing himself as “loyal like a dog” in an attempt to reassure Alison-Madueke after she expressed concerns about internal leaks within their circle.

Another recording from May 2014, referred to during proceedings as the “Playboy Lecture,” allegedly captured Alison-Madueke criticising Aluko’s public lifestyle and high-profile appearances. She was heard telling him, “As far as everybody’s concerned, you’re a playboy,” while cautioning that his association with prominent figures, including supermodel Naomi Campbell, could draw scrutiny from intelligence authorities.

The court also heard references to Aluko’s purchase of the $80 million Galactica Star yacht, a transaction Alison-Madueke allegedly advised should have been structured as a lease rather than an outright acquisition to maintain discretion.

Perhaps the most striking evidence presented was a widely circulated recording in which Alison-Madueke allegedly issued a stern warning, stating she would be willing to “escort all of you to jail” if matters escalated, a remark prosecutors interpret as indicative of a pact between individuals whose personal and financial interests were closely linked.

Prosecutors maintain that the recordings suggest more than a professional association, arguing they point to a romantic alliance that may have played a role in one of Africa’s most significant corruption scandals. Alison-Madueke, however, has denied all allegations of bribery, while the court continues to examine whether the audio evidence substantiates claims of a coordinated conspiracy.
