APC Chieftain Igbokwe Drops Bombshell, Names Alleged Terror Sponsors In Nigeria
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has alleged that opposition politicians are behind the wave of insecurity across Nigeria, describing the crisis as largely orchestrated for political gain.
According to Ireporter Online, Igbokwe made the claim in a statement shared via his official Facebook page, where he argued that the country’s security challenges are not incidental but deliberately engineered. He further alleged that certain political actors resort to sponsoring violence after electoral defeats, using vulnerable individuals to destabilize the system and gain public sympathy.
The APC stalwart maintained that such actions are aimed at creating chaos and scoring political advantage, insisting that those responsible would ultimately fail in their plans. He expressed confidence that despite the prevailing challenges, negative forces would not prevail over national stability.
In a related development, the presidency has acknowledged the severity of the security situation, noting that it remains a major concern for Bola Tinubu. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-West), Abdulillahi Yakassai, disclosed during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief that ongoing security threats have continued to evolve.
Yakassai explained that although progress has been made in some regions, the emergence of new tactics by insurgents, particularly guerrilla-style operations, has complicated efforts to fully contain the situation. He added that the President remains actively engaged, holding frequent security meetings at the Presidential Villa in a bid to address the challenges and restore stability across affected areas.
