Criminals Beware: Jigawa Police Say ‘No Hiding Place
The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced its determination to eradicate criminal activities within the state, warning that offenders will have no safe haven.
The newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Haruna Alaba Yahaya, outlined his security priorities during his first press briefing on Tuesday, emphasizing a firm and uncompromising approach to crime. According to the police chief, the command will leverage modern policing strategies to enhance operational effectiveness.
Yahaya highlighted that the force will intensify efforts to combat armed robbery, cattle rustling, drug trafficking, vandalism, and other criminal offences. He stressed that the command would proactively identify and dismantle criminal networks across Jigawa.
The commissioner assured residents of close collaboration with other security agencies to ensure coordinated and effective responses to security challenges. He emphasized that synergy among security operatives is critical for addressing emerging threats and maintaining law and order.
He called on officers to uphold professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights, noting that ethical conduct and accountability would guide his leadership. Yahaya reaffirmed his vision of building a secure, stable, and crime-resilient state where residents can pursue their daily activities without fear.
The police chief urged the public to support law enforcement with timely and credible information, stressing that community cooperation is essential for creating a safer society.
