According to Ireporter Online, prominent opposition figures, including former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with the embattled National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, at his residence ahead of the party’s national convention.

The closed-door meeting was reportedly convened to fine-tune final arrangements and ensure smooth coordination ahead of the ADC national convention currently taking place in Abuja.

Other key political figures in attendance included former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, alongside party stakeholders Hajia Naja’atu Mohammed and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, as discussions centered on preparations and alignment ahead of the convention.

Images and video clips from the meeting, shared on X by the CRA27 Advocacy Network—a group supporting Amaechi’s political direction—showed the leaders in what was described as a “strategic briefing” session ahead of the event.

In one of the posts, the group wrote: “LIVE: ADC CONVENTION HE Rotimi Amaechi at the residence of Senator David Mark for a strategic briefing alongside HE Peter Obi, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.”

Another update noted that Amaechi was joined by Hajia Naja’atu Mohammed and Alhaji Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, with party leaders said to be making final preparations before proceeding to the convention venue.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that no fewer than 3,000 delegates have arrived at the Rainbow Event Centre in Garki, Abuja, for the convention. The delegates, dressed in colourful attire, were drawn from all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, reflecting what organizers described as unity and diversity within the party.
