According to Ireporter Online, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Ali Isa, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing deepening internal crisis and what he described as undemocratic practices within the party structure.

Isa confirmed his resignation in a letter dated April 14, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of Kindiyo Ward in Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State, stating that his decision takes immediate effect.

In the letter, the lawmaker who represents Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency alleged that the party had been overtaken by undemocratic elements, resulting in a factional leadership that, according to him, no longer reflects the founding ideals of the PDP.

He explained that the decision followed extensive consultations with his family, political associates, and key stakeholders, adding that his political future, alongside that of his constituents, would be better secured outside the party.

Isa further stressed that his priority remains the welfare and political advancement of his constituents, insisting they deserve a stronger and more stable platform to pursue their aspirations.
