The exchange rate between the US dollar and the Nigerian naira at the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, remained a key focus for currency traders on April 18, 2026. According to Ireporter Online, Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos indicated that the dollar was sold at ₦1,400 and bought at ₦1,390 during trading activities on Saturday. These figures reflect the prevailing rates within the informal foreign exchange market, where many Nigerians turn due to limited access to official channels.

However, market observers emphasized that exchange rates may vary slightly depending on location and transaction volume, as forex prices are largely influenced by demand and supply dynamics across different segments of the market.
