Olayinka Bags APOEL Goal Of The Month As Ndidi Reacts To Beşiktaş Draw
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has been named APOEL FC’s Goal of the Month after his spectacular strike in the Cypriot Cup encounter against Apollon Limassol.
The 29-year-old enjoyed an impressive run during the month, finding the net in consecutive matches. He also scored in APOEL’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Pafos FC on Sunday, further underlining his fine form since joining the Cypriot champions on a free transfer earlier in the year. Olayinka has now recorded two goals in 10 league appearances for the 29-time league winners.
Reacting to the recognition via his Facebook page, Olayinka expressed delight at the award, simply stating his appreciation for the honour.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has expressed disappointment following Beşiktaş’ frustrating home draw against Fatih Karagümrük in the Turkish Super Lig. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Beşiktaş were unable to break down a resilient visiting side.
Speaking after the match, Ndidi did not hide his frustration, describing the result as unacceptable and admitting the team fell short of expectations, particularly in the first half. He emphasized the need for immediate improvement ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
Beşiktaş currently sit fourth on the league table with 56 points and will look to bounce back when they face Gaziantep in their next league match on Friday.
