According to Ireporter Online, the Senator representing Yobe East, Mustapha Musa, popularly known as Kulas, has officially withdrawn from the 2027 electoral race and declared his support for Governor Mai Mala Buni’s preferred successor within the National Assembly political arrangement ahead of the next general elections.

In a formal statement, Musa said his decision was in line with the resolutions of party leaders and broader political consultations within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that he would no longer pursue the party’s ticket or any other elective office.

“I hereby formally withdraw from the contest for the ticket,” he stated.

He further instructed his supporters to discontinue all campaign activities and the circulation of materials promoting his political ambition for any position.

Musa, who previously indicated interest in the governorship race, expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, describing them as key mentors who played significant roles in his political development from his time as Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Scholarship Board to his tenure as commissioner and later senator.
