BREAKING: Funso Doherty Quits ADC, Joins NDC

According to reports monitored by Ireporter Online, Doherty announced his defection on Thursday, explaining that recent developments within the ADC exposed deep cracks among key stakeholders, leading to disagreements over the party’s future direction.

He revealed that while some prominent members chose to align with the NDC, others decided to remain in the ADC, further weakening efforts to maintain a united opposition front ahead of future elections.

Doherty noted that the ADC was initially conceived as a coalition platform capable of bringing together opposition forces under one umbrella. However, he stated that the current realities within the party have made that objective increasingly difficult to achieve.

Following extensive consultations with political associates and supporters, the former governorship candidate said he opted to join the NDC because he believes the party presents a more credible opportunity to build an inclusive government and deliver meaningful change for Nigerians.

He acknowledged that the political journey ahead would be challenging but maintained optimism that a stronger opposition movement could still emerge to drive reforms and provide citizens with an alternative political direction.

Doherty also urged his supporters and like-minded Nigerians to align with the NDC, describing the party as a growing movement committed to creating a better future for the country.
