Don Jazzy Reveals Toughest Career Decisions That Shaped His Journey

According to Ireporter Online, ace Nigerian music executive and record producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed that parting ways with former Mavin Records artist, Di’ja, remains one of the most difficult decisions of his career.

Di’ja was signed to Mavin Records on 14 February 2014 and went on to release several singles and an EP between 2014 and 2017 under the label. Although she later clarified in 2023 that she never officially exited the record company, she noted that circumstances naturally led to a shift in her professional journey.

Speaking during a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, Don Jazzy recounted that the decision process was emotionally intense, stating that Di’ja also recognized his discomfort at the time.

He explained that every artiste under his label is like a family member, describing the experience as deeply personal and painful. According to him, the moment was so emotional that it affected everyone present, including Di’ja, who questioned why he had to be involved in the final decision.

Don Jazzy added that he no longer personally handles such exits within the label, noting that the responsibility has since been delegated to trusted members of his team.
