Avoid Scam Forms” — ADC State Chairmen Raise Alarm Over David Mark Group
According to Ireporter Online, the Forum of State Chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned aspirants in the party against purchasing expression of interest and nomination forms from a faction allegedly led by Senator David Mark, warning that such candidates risk disqualification from the 2027 general elections.
The chairmen maintained that the ongoing sale of forms by the faction violates a Federal High Court order issued in Abuja on April 29, 2026, and could attract serious legal consequences. The position was contained in a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the State Chairmen-led National Executive Committee (NEC) Forum, Norman Obinna.
The forum referenced Suit No. FHC/ABJ/581/2026, delivered by Justice J.O. Abdulmalik, which reportedly restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and related parties from recognising or validating any congresses conducted by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), except those organised by the state chairmen. It further stated that the judgment barred interference with the duties, functions, and tenure of state executives, as well as any attempt by the NWC to organise state congresses or a national convention.
The chairmen warned that aspirants who proceed to obtain forms through unauthorised channels should be aware of the legal risks involved, including possible invalidation of their candidacies. They also accused the caretaker or interim NWC of acting in defiance of the court order, alleging violations such as the unauthorised sale of forms, opening of party accounts without proper signatories, and organising party congresses, describing such actions as contempt of court.
They urged party members and aspirants to exercise caution and comply strictly with legal and constitutional procedures within the party structure.
