No Be Me Go Choose Single Motherhood” — Lady Speaks On What She’d Do If Husband Cheats
According to Ireporter Online, a woman has sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing her perspective on marital infidelity, stating that she would not leave her home or retaliate if her husband were unfaithful.
The lady, whose comments circulated online on Friday, noted that many people often speak emotionally about divorce and revenge in cases of cheating without fully considering the long-term consequences on children and overall family stability.
In her remarks, she explained that rather than opting for separation or confrontation, she would prioritize maintaining peace in her household while continuing to work alongside her husband in raising their children.
“If my husband cheats and thinks I’ll cheat back so he can divorce me, he’ll fail woefully. I’ll still cook for him, pamper him and make the home peaceful because I’m not ready to destroy my family over temporary issues,” she said.
She further emphasized her stance, stating that she would not “volunteer for single motherhood,” adding that her focus would remain on raising the children with love and unity while being mindful of real-life consequences beyond online opinions.
Her statement has since generated mixed reactions, with some users applauding her emphasis on family stability, while others argued that staying in an unfaithful marriage could potentially enable repeated infidelity. The debate reflects ongoing conversations across social media in Nigeria about marriage, cheating, divorce, and the challenges of parenting in modern relationships.
